Approximately 1 year ago Porsche celebrated the milestone of 2 million Facebook Fans by unveiling a special Cayman S decked out with a portrait of each of its fans. Now Porsche has 5 million Facebook Fans and has revealed its crowd-sourced 911 Carrera 4S build thanks to input, suggestions and ideas of Porsche Facebook Fans. The engagement doesn’t stop now the car is ready. Porsche is currently running a competition that will allow one lucky fan to travel to the Silverstone race track in the United Kingdom, and actually drive this blue beauty. Next to that there are 9 scale models of the car foreseen for the runners-up. The contest is open to anyone with a Facebook account and a valid driver’s license.
At a later stage the car will be located at the Porsche Experience Center at Silverstone to give a chance to all Porsche fanatics to experience the car. The special 911 is based on a 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S and features a unique blue color (matching with Facebook?), and contains an encryption: “5M PORSCHE FANS” …fortunately integrated in a very elegant way.
Porsche isn’t the first brand to show appreciation for their fans. If you have a nice fan engagement example please don’t hesitate to share 😉
