The So Buzzy team is not so small anymore. On the 3rd of September, we welcomed our 6th colleague. Dieter Dingenen started working at our agency as Digital Advertising Expert. Facebook ads have no secrets for him!
It took a while to get used to his accent (he’s from the Campine), but we can’t imagine working without Dieter anymore. What have we learned about him so far? During his student days, you could regularly find him at ‘Politika Kaffee’, a popular bar in Leuven. He plays tennis and football, and sometimes eats chicken satays in the morning. Are you curious about our brand new team member? In this blog post, he introduces himself to you.
- How were your first few weeks as Digital Advertising Expert at So Buzzy?
In one word: great! It is always a little scary when you start a new job. Usually, you still have to discover what is expected of you. This was not the case because of the overloaded agenda. I could start working right away, with a remarkable amount of responsibility and trust from Kel, Christopher and the rest of the team. There is also a very pleasant atmosphere, which made me feel at home immediately.
- What was your most fun assignment until now?
During my first week, we were presented with a pitch, which I helped prepare completely from A to Z. In the beginning, it was a bit overwhelming and I had to figure out how this worked. I had never done this before, and didn’t know how So Buzzy worked either. In the end, I found this a very fun assignment, and I hope that we will soon get the good news that we have won the pitch ?
- What kind of assignments or campaigns would you like to do in the future with So Buzzy?
Setting up a marketing funnel based on a detailed media plan. A funnel is a set of steps someone has to go through to proceed to a conversion. Every advertisement that is shown is a clear step within this funnel to achieve the ultimate goals of the client. I like it when you can look back and say that no steps were skipped, and that everything was set up with a good reason.
- What is your favorite social media channel?
Instagram, for both professional and private use. I must admit that I am a rather passive user, who likes to go through the Stories and the newsfeed when he has a 5 minute break. On a professional level, I like the platform to advertise on, especially because there are a lot of different ways to show your brand.
- How often do you check your social media?
Several times a day. If you asked my girlfriend this question, she would certainly answer that I spent far too much time on it ?
- Which brand or company would you recommend to follow?
This one might be mentioned more often, but I think Coolblue is a really nice brand to follow. The fun stuff they do on holidays, their product releases… They are always very original.
- What is your favorite emoji?
?
- If you had to provide lunch for the whole So Buzzy team, what would we eat?
Spaghetti! Preferably spaghetti bolognese made by my mother, or spaghetti carbonara made by my girlfriend ?
- What is your favorite travel destination?
At the moment, I have New Zealand as my next destination on my bucket list. Two years ago, I went on a road trip along the West Coast of the USA with two friends. Since then I’ve been bitten by the travel bug for bigger trips, but unfortunately it hasn’t worked out anymore. It is definitely my intention to explore the world even further, both outside Europe and the more beautiful places that our own continent has to offer (the coastal regions of France and Italy for example).
- Do you have any secret talents that we don’t know about?
Not that I know of, so we’ll have to discover that.
- Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
A question I don’t really have an answer to, since I never plan far ahead and take things as they come ?
