So Buzzy – Cookie Statement

So Buzzy uses cookies to make your website visit as pleasant as possible. This technology allows us to better understand your preferences and needs. That way, we can tailor our website completely to you, and improve your browsing experience.

Cookies are only intended to optimize our website. They will never track data that allows us to identify visitors. Their only function is to allow us to better understand the interests of our users and to check the effectiveness of different parts of our website.

Recent changes in legislation require all websites in certain areas of the European Union to explicitly inform you about the use of cookies. In addition, you must indicate your consent to the use or storage of cookies and similar technologies when you visit these websites using a computer or mobile device. With this cookie statement, we want to inform you about how we use cookies and for what purposes. If you would like more info, you can always contact us at info@sobuzzy.be.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that are installed on your computer, smartphone or tablet when you visit a website. Different types of cookies allow you to be recognized for several purposes, such as keeping track of your language choice. Consequently, you do not have to reset your language each time you visit and we can make your visit to our websites more enjoyable. Other cookies are anonymous and collect information about how a website is used by visitors.

When we refer to “cookies” on this page, we mean both cookies, and the similar techniques.

Types of cookies

Different types of cookies can be distinguished, depending on their origin, their function and their lifetime. Below is an overview:

  • First-party cookies are cookies placed by a website, at the time it is visited by the user (e.g., cookies placed by So Buzzy).
  • Third-party cookies are cookies placed by a domain name other than that of the website visited by the user. If a user visits a website and a third party, for example Google, Twitter or Facebook, places a cookie through that website, it is a third-party cookie.
  • Functional cookies are cookies that are responsible for the optimal functioning of the website (e.g. cookies for login or registration, language preferences, etc.). Functionele cookies vallen onder de categorie first-party cookies.
  • Non-functional cookies can fall under both first-party and third-party cookies. They play no role in the technical support of the website, but are used for 4 different reasons: for statistical, social, targeting or commercial purposes.
    • Cookies with statistical purposes allow us to track which pages of the website you visit, the location of your computer, etc.
    • Social purpose cookies allow the user to share the content of the visited website directly with others through social media.
    • Cookies with targeting purposes allow a profile of you to be created based on your browsing habits. This profile allows displayed ads to be tailored to your interests.
    • Cookies with commercial purposes track how many and which ads are shown to a user.
  • Permanent cookies remain on the user’s device for the duration determined in the cookie. Each time the user browses to the website that placed this cookie (e.g., cookies placed by social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Google Analytics, etc.), the cookie is activated. Most non-functional cookies are permanent cookies.
  • Session cookies are going to simplify and link a user’s actions during a browser session. A browser session starts when the browser window opens. The session ends only when the browser window is closed by the user. Afterwards, all session cookies are also deleted. So they do not stay on your device permanently, but are temporary. Most functional cookies are session cookies.

How long do cookies persist?

Temporary cookies are only stored in your browser or app for a certain period of time. When you close your browser or app, those cookies are automatically deleted.

Permanent cookies, on the other hand, remain present on your computer, tablet or smartphone for a long time after you close the browser or app. These cookies can recognize you as a user during subsequent visits. They disappear from your device only when their expiration date is reached, a new version of the cookie is installed, or you delete them manually.

Your consent

When you visit our website for the first time, we ask you to accept the use of cookies, in accordance with this Cookie Statement. When you click “Yes, I accept cookies,” you are indicating your agreement to this. It is possible to withdraw your approval at any time. You do this by adjusting your cookie selection through your browser settings. If you use multiple browsers (e.g., Edge, Safari, Chrome), you need to make a separate selection for each browser. If you would like more information about deleting or blocking cookies, you can always visit this website: http://www.aboutcookies.org/Default.aspx?page=2.
